Nursery songs

To become familiar with phonics, we started to work with nursery songs which have rhyming and no- rhyming words.

I show you an example of the two songs that I like most: "five little fishes swimming in a pool" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q0g2w9kF1s) and "Baa, baa, black sheep" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RmzV9QgnlQ)

How to survive in a desert island

Things you need in a desert island
This activity is related with phonics. Children have to fill in the gaps the missing letters using the PDI.

My dream trip around the world

The trip of my dreams

One of my dreams is to travel around the world. I hope to do it someday.

I want to share with you my dream trip: Irland, Island, India, Egypt, Azores Islands, Cuba, New York, Alaska and Argentina.

My last destination will be Argentina. It may be the starting point for a nice trip around Latin America, but this is another story.

The trip of Michael and his family

During the boat trip, Michael and his family visit the following places: La Coruña  (Spain), Azores Islands, Canaries, Cape Verde Island, Recife (Brazil), Río de Janeiro, Santa Helena, Cape Town, Perth, Sidney and Coral Sea.

I made this map in the website www.tripline.net. It's funny and very easy to use.

Venn Diagram

This activity consists of write the similarities and differences between the traditional story of "The three little pigs" (topic 1) and the new story, called "The true story of the three little pigs" (topic 2).

In the middle, there are the facts that both stories share.

You could use symbols and pictures to make it more attractive.

VCOP: Punctuation Pyramid

In this PDI activity, students have to fill the gaps using connectives.

They have to pay attention to this punctuation pyramid, in order to choose the best connector.

The phrases belongs to the story of "The owl who has afraid of the dark".

How is the dark?

With this book for Year 4, we have discovered a very little owl who was really curious. His name is Plop. Although he thought the dark was dangerous, little by little he find out that the dark is wonderful, funny super and millions of other things! With the help of his mother, Plop meets interesting people that tell him why the dark is so amazing.

I used this map to describe how is the dark, according to Plop's story.

I recommend this book to all this kids that have afraid of the dark and they need to overcome their fears :)

Jack's hat

This display is about the book "Lazy Jack". We wrote Jack's personality but only using few sentences.

The main of this task was to use different adjetives and connectors to join phrases.
